Conditionals - what for?
Anika H., Kursteilnehmerin |
Conditionals - what was that again?

Conditional I
If I find the book, I will call you.
As you see, this is what we can call a realistic condition:
I have the book - so I only have to find it and then I can / will give it to you.
I have the book - so I only have to find it and then I can / will give it to you.
Conditional II
If I found 10,000 Euro on the street, I would share it with you.
So sorry - THIS is not realistic - it is more daydreaming, hypothesizing, unrealistic.
I am just speculating about this.
I am just speculating about this.
How to build Conditional I and II
' I have never seen 'use past tense' in any grammar book for Conditional II '
Yes, but in the end this is what you need to build it. And it's way easier to understand and remember as many of the complex explanations you might have found elsewhere.
